Product Information

1 - Feedbee is easily accepted by bees in Powder form (Fig 1)

Research on Powder feeding of Feedbee has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Jordan, India, etc. and compared with pollen and some soy-based feeds. The results indicated that bees consumed the entire powder Feedbee & pollen in the feeders and a negligible amount of soy-based feeds.

Note:

  • The type and colour of the powder feeder had no effects on the feed intake.
  • The bees consumed the entire Feedbee poweder in the feeder even when there was a sufficient amount of good quality pollen available to the bees.
  • In some of the bee yards, the feeders were rubbed by bees from neighbouring apiaries.
  • The consumption rate was 450g - 500g (app. 1 lb) of powder Feedbee/hive/week.

2 - Feedbee is easily accepted in Patty form (Fig 2)

Research on Patty feeding (Fig. 1,2,3,4,5) of Feedbee has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Jordan, India, New Zealand, Australia, etc. and compared with pollen and some locally made soy-based diets. The results indicated that bees consumed the entire patties of Feedbee and pollen placed inside the hives and very little amount of other feeds.

Note:

  • The bees consumed the entire Feedbee patties even when there was sufficient amount of good quality pollen available to the bees.
  • The consumption rate was 500g - 600g of Feedbee patty/hive/week.

3 - Feedbee is easily accepted in Liquid form (Fig 2)

Research on Liquid feeding (Fig. 6,7) of Feedbee has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Jordan, India, New Zealand, Australia, etc. and compared with pollen and some locally made soy-based diets. The results indicated that bees consumed the entire patties of Feedbee and pollen placed inside the hives and very little amount of other feeds.

Note:

  • The type and colour of the feeder had no effects on the feed intake.
  • The bees consumed the entire Feedbee liquid in the feeder even when there was sufficient amount of good quality pollen available to the bees.
  • The consumption rate was 650g - 700g of liquid Feedbee/hive/week.

4 - Feedbee doubles Brood rearing

Research works on the effect of Feedbee on brood rearing has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Jordan, India, New Zealand, Australia, etc. and compared with pollen and some locally made soy-based diets & no-feed (control) groups. The results indicated that colonies fed Feedbee and pollen had double the brood when compared with the control group and the colonies fed soy-based diets.

Note:

  • There was no statistical difference between Feedbee and pollen fed groups.
  • The diets were fed to bees in powder, patty and liquid forms.

5 - Feedbee doubles colony Population

Research on the effect of Feedbee on colony population has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Jordan, India, New Zealand, Australia, etc. and compared with pollen and some locally made soy-based diets & no-feed (control) groups. The results indicated that colonies fed Feedbee and pollen had double the population of worker bees when compared with the population of control group and the colonies fed soy-based diets.

Note:

  • There was no statistical difference between Feedbee and pollen fed groups.
  • The diets were fed to bees in powder, patty and liquid forms.

6 - Feedbee doubles Honey crop

Research on the effect of Feedbee on honey production has been done in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, India, New Zealand, Australia, etc. and compared with pollen and some locally made soy-based diets & no-feed (control) groups. The results indicated that colonies fed Feedbee and pollen produced double the amount of honey per colony when compared with the honey crop of the control group and the colonies fed soy-based diets.

Note:

  • There was no statistical difference between Feedbee and pollen fed groups.
  • The diets were fed to bees in powder, patty and liquid forms.
